First Armenian Publications

In 1566, Abkar Tokhatetsi published the first printed calendar in Venice, named “Kharnaypntour Doumari Keghetsig yev Bidani.”

In 1668, Voskan Yerevantsi published the first Armenian Bible in the city of Nor Chougha in Iran.

In 1771, Catholicos Simeon Yerevantsi established the first Armenian printing press in Echmiadzin, called “St Gregory the Illuminator,” while the first paper factory was built in 1776.
