About the Erasmus Mundus master Economics of Globalisation and European Integration

The Programme offers a scientifically well-founded training in the field of economics of globalisation, international trade and European economic integration. It provides a profound insight into the current scientific knowledge in this field and is supported by scientific research at the partner universities, both at these universities individually and in a network context. The Programme leads to an in-depth understanding in the following core fields: Advanced Microeconomics, Advanced Macroeconomics, Open Economy Macroeconomics and International Finance, Economics of Globalisation, Economics of European Integration, and International Trade: Theory and Policy. As a master degree in economics should also include a strong quantitative component, Applied Econometrics is taught as an additional core discipline.

The Programme is jointly taught and organised by a consortium of seven European universities: Universiteit Antwerpen (Belgium), Università degli Studi di Bari ‘Aldo Moro’ (Italy), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), Universidad de Cantabria (Spain), Université de Lille 1(France), Vysoká Škola Ekonomická v Praze (Prague University of Economics) (Czech Republic), Staffordshire University (UK), Xiamen University (P.R. China) and Universidade de Brasília (Brazil).

The Raffy Manoukian Scholarships‏

These awards, generously funded by Mr Raffy Manoukian, are offered to Armenian nationals or students of Armenian descent who would otherwise be unable to study at Oxford.

An unlimited number of scholarships will be awarded for graduate and undergraduate degrees.

http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate_courses/student_funding/raffy_manoukian.html

Am I eligible?

Candidates should be Armenian nationals or of Armenian descent (and not ordinarily resident in a state within the European Economic Area).

The Raffy Manoukian Scholarship is designed to support students who are accepted on a full time degree course at the University of Oxford but prevented from taking up their studies for reasons of financial difficulty. You will be contacted by the Raffy Manoukian office directly to provide with financial information if you are short-listed.

Applicants must intend to return to their home country at the end of their studies.

Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry to your course, including English language requirements. See the Undergraduate Course Guide for more information.

Deferred students are not eligible.

What does it cover?

100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living costs of £9,225 (2012-13 rate) for undergraduate students.

Awards are made for the full duration of a student’s fee liability for the agreed course. If your scholarship is offered for a course lasting more than one year, the continuation of your scholarship each year is subject to an annual renewal process based on satisfactory academic progress.

How do I apply?

You must apply to the University of Oxford as described on the Undergraduate Admissions webpage through the UCAS system. Please note that the closing date for all UCAS applications is 15 October 2012 and certain courses may require students to register for tests before this.

Once you have been offered a place by your college you may apply for the Raffy Manoukian Scholarship. This will involve completing the undergraduate scholarship application form (UND_1314) and submitting it in February 2013, exact date to be confirmed.

How will I know if I have been successful?

Successful candidates will be notified by email in May 2013. This webpage will be updated to show when all decisions have been made. If you have not heard from us by the time this notice is posted, then your application to this scheme has been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on applications.

Chinese College to open in Armenia

YEREVAN. – Total of 28 students from Armenia will go to China to study there. Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships were granted by China in a competition within the frameworks of the international treaty between Armenia and China. The scholarships were granted by the Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Tian Changchun and the Armenian Deputy FM Sergey Manasaryan.

Wishing students the success, Ashotyan stated that China was the most of all to provide for university positions, which meets the great interest and desire of the Armenian students to get familiarized with the Chinese culture and policy.

He also added that 15 Chinese students will study in Armenia on the skill exchange program. Besides, a college teaching the Chinese language and meeting international criteria is planned to open in the near future in Armenia.
