Area of research interest resonant with the expertise and current interests of available School of Law staff. Proven, or potential, ability to teach at undergraduate level. If English is not the applicant?s first language, a minimum of 7 in IELTS, or equivalent, will be required.

Scholarship Description: The School of Law at the University of Strathclyde invites applications for the award of a Campbell Burns Scholarship. Successful applicants will have their fees waived for each year of their period of study (1 year for MPhil students; 3 years for PhD students) together with an annual maintenance award of ?10,000. The scholarship is for one year in the first instance and in the case of PhD students, subject to satisfactory progress, will normally be renewed up to the maximum of a further 2 years. It is a condition of the award of a Scholarship that holders, if required to do so by the Head of School, shall be obliged to carry out a teaching load of 90 hours of tutorials (or equivalent in value) in total over the three years of a PhD. They would not normally be required to undertake any more than 50 hours of tutorials (or equivalent in value) in any single academic year. No payment additional to the maintenance component of the Scholarship will be made for this teaching. However, any teaching undertaken over and above those hours will be paid at the currently applicable rate.
